In You and Idol Precure, the story follows a girl Uta Sakura. She dreams of singing, and representing all peoples. When she meets the fairy Purirun, she transforms into Cure Idol, a shining magical girl who fights with music and dance. Uta is voiced by Miyu Tomita, known for her bright and energetic roles. Her friends Cure Rhythmia and Cure Melodyne join her on stage, voiced by Rie Takahashi and Inori Minase. They form an idol team to defeat the dark Chokkiri Gang by singing songs.
